Arcon Eilwarin was the Count of Andautonia at the time of the Aoshanti Republic's founding, and Dux of the garrison of Cibalae at the start of the Fourth Concourse War. An elderly and conservative prince of the Interior and former Moderate politician, he was appointed to the position on account of both his seniority and as a chance at redemption for his failings in the Senate.
Born and raised in the Phero Ecumene, Arcon and his siblings were initially instilled with an understanding that the Eilwarin family's ancestral home in the Aoshanti Concourse was a distant memory. Many of them ended up in distinguished careers as technocrats and military officers, Arcon among them. However, the outbreak of the Third Concourse War sparked some deep sense of familial and cultural duty in Arcon, and he took up his sword to join his fellow Lessoans in the invasion of the Ascendancy.
Arcon was serving a term as Consul in 22 NE at the outbreak of the Veritas Crisis, but he chose to resign when the Senate, against his staunch warnings, chose to abolish the monarchy and declare a Republic. While originally a leading voice of the Moderates alongside the now-absent Ke'ron Armandus, he subsequently took a backseat to Mira Armandus and Prigem Adiaphora, and was rumored to be spiraling into depression and, according to the most hyperbolic whispers, dementia or alcoholism. However, he continued to publicly present himself as a capable politician and administrator, though his physical health took a noticeable downward turn.
As the year came to a close and tensions increased with the Reformed League, Arcon was appointed Dux of the Interior Garrison stationed at Cibalae. He reached the system just in time, as the Fall of the Interior came to pass the following month, cutting off the Republic's supply lines to the city-world and stranding the forces sent there. Among the conquered counties was Arcon's own title of Andautonia.
Arcon spent the months of truce fortifying the army complex on Brion, a planetoid in Cibalae's solar system, preparing for a defense against a much superior invasion force. The Battle of Brion saw the Imperial assault army crack open the complex's walls and pour into the main citadel, picking apart Republic marines and native Cibalaen levies. Arcon himself would eventually perish on the final day of the assault, sword in hand, as he lead his templars in a final, martyring reprisal against the invaders.
